The maps and plates were drawn by the author and engraved by Terry.

His narrative includes descriptions of Naples, Malta, Minorca, Gibraltar, Tangiers, and Egypt, and pp. 435-40 contain Edward Jenner's Origin of the Vaccine Inoculation, which had been originally published in 1801. This printing is not noted by LeFanu in his Bio-Bibliography of Edward Jenner, 1749-1823.
