4 1/2 x 11 inches. watercolour on paper. signed on recto.

A painter born in England. Allegedly a former army officer living under an assumed name. Living in Montreal during the 1880s painting landscapes and recording historic buildings in oil and watercolour. Many views were commissioned by David Ross McCord. Left Montreal in 1889; worked illustrating book on British army uniforms by Walter Richards, published London, 1890s. Exhibited at the Art Association of Montreal [1885-9], Quebec Provincial Exhibition, Quebec [1887], and Royal Canadian Academy, [1888]. Many of Bunnett's views are copies of earlier prints. The inscriptions, not necessarily made by the artist, are often in error as to location, name and date of origin of the buildings.
